Expected Outcomes
Innovative Project
In the VISUALIZE project art is the essential first discussion topic because it transcends right and wrong, opens the mind, evokes strong emotions and allows for unique perspectives to be brought into the discussion. Going to museums and exhibitions to look at artwork, photos and graphs and respond to each other comments is not a method and/or approach commonly used to build tolerance among young people.
Results
By teaching young people to look at images VISUALIZE promotes the development of flexible and rigorous thinking skills, including observation, brainstorming, reasoning with evidence, speculating, cultivating a point of view, reflecting, and revising.
The overall result will be 60 youngsters involved and trained in visual thinking and reasoning. By participating in the Visual Thinking training program they will also gain self-esteem, social competencies and self-reliancet that will perfectly prepare them for their professional careers.
